Our manner describes how we are to relate to each other in the body of Christ.

Our manner is rooted in the “one-anothers” of Scripture. There are about 40 one-another commands in the Bible. We’ve narrowed them down to six primary ones that ought to mark every small group:

• Love one another (1 John 4:7–8).
• Forgive one another (Ephesians 4:32).
• Serve one another (Galatians 5:13).
• Submit to one another (1 Peter 5:5).
• Encourage one another (Philippians 1:3–6).
• Belong to one another (Romans 12:4–5).

This is a helpful list to use in evaluating the health of your small group. It’s also the list that makes up the section titled, “My Conduct,” in the small group covenant.
